So Lux Event Center is centrally located in Newport News just off Interstate 64. The center boasts over 1900 square feet of open event space for use by the general public, the military, non-profit organizations, and businesses.

Rent So Lux

To reserve So Lux Event Center, you will need to complete the following steps:


1. Contact us at 757-273-9333 or email us at to check if your desired event date and time are available and to discuss your event needs.


2. Complete the Reservation Form and Agreement (PDF) onsite at So Lux Event Center, email (, fax to 757-529-3349, or mail to PO Box 14493, Newport News, VA 23608 the following as detailed below:

3. Pay the following fees as detailed below:


*$25.00 non-refundable processing fee (if your reservation is submitted 30 days or more prior to your event)

* Additional $10.00 non-refundable processing fee (if your reservation is submitted 14 days or less prior to your event) 

* Hold Date Security Deposit of $150.00 (NON-REFUNDABLE) and applied towards the total cost of your reservation.  Refer to Fee Structure (PDF)Click HERE to view a sample invoice.

PLEASE NOTE: We only accept payment in the form of cash, cashier's check, money order, or business check.

Sorry we do not accept personal checks.

We charge a 2.9% processing fee for credit card payments.

**To avoid the 2.9% processing fee, you can pay via Zelle or $CashApp


4. Once we receive your reservation form, we will reply with a confirmation email that will include an invoice detailing the total cost of your reservation and five ways to pay your deposit (due within 24 hours of receiving the email confirmation) as well as an event outline request form due 14 days prior to your event detailing how you want to instruct our staff on how and where you'd like the tables and chairs to be set up for your event.

Event Center Amenities

Reservation of the Event Center includes:

* Use of the entire center (2,360 square feet)

* Small warming kitchen (complete with a stainless stove, refrigerator, and microwave) 

* Round Tables (48"- seat up to 6) and/or 6 ft rectangle tables (seat up to 8)

* 2 Complimentary Cocktail Tables

* Fancy Couch Bench and Table (can be a lounge seating area - or use the bench as the guest(s) of honor seating

* 65" Smart Flat Screen TV (perfect for photo slide shows, videos, YouTube, or Presentations)

* Bar with 3 Bar Stools (the bar is on wheels & can be moved anywhere throughout the event center & can be used as a desert station, beverage station, etc)

* Complimentary Setup Service (our staff will set up your tables and chairs prior to your event if the Event Center Layout Request Form (PDF) is submitted 14 days prior to your event

* Cleaning Supplies in the Storage Closet (Required for cleaning up after use) per the Event Center Clean-Up Checklist (PDF)

* Podium (great for speeches or presentations)

* Free Wi-Fi throughout (Guest Login and Password on Center Wall)

**Large Bluetooth Speaker with wireless mic (available for rental for $50 per event- great for playing music playlists, or in combination with the Flat Screen TV for YouTube Karaoke)**
